About Lime

We’re a talent agency specializing in cruise ship, hotel and theme park entertainment. We recruit musicians, dancers, and many other types of performers worldwide, and place them on cruise ships.

We’re a team of young enthusiasts who believe in constant growth, driven by our purpose: helping performers change their lives for the better, and to achieve their full potential.

About this job

We’re hiring a temporary Production Cast Specialist for Vocalists and Customer Support!

Why temporary, you ask? Our current support+vocal specialist is having her second baby! She will be on maternity leave from mid-December through mid-April 2025. That said, the casting team is growing rapidly so we’ll need a full-time talent booker in the not-too-distant future; if the 4 months go well, there’s a bright future ahead with us.

As the job title implies, there are two parts to this job.

First: support for all of our production cast performers, via email correspondence and calls. A decade ago, when we started Lime, we set out to give our clients the best customer support in the business, and that foundational tenet is just as important today. The plain fact is this: what has always set us apart from other agencies is the way we truly care about our performers.

Second: a vocal specialist! You’ll be in charge of filtering through the vocalist applicants we receive on a daily basis, determining who will pass to our roster, creating high-quality submission packages, and making offers! Literally making people’s dreams come true.

About you

These are the qualities we’re looking for in you:

  • Cruise ship experience as a vocalist. You’ll need to have completed at least 2 full contracts on board. Ideally as a production show vocalist.
  • Native English / excellent written English. We have high standards of both written and verbal communication.
  • Strong writing skills. We’re talking style, punctuation, and phrasing.
  • Admin experience. You’ll need to know the basics of business workflows, tools and best practices.
  • Available from November 15th.
  • Based in the Americas as you’ll work during American EST business hours.
  • Not being on board. This is not a side job that can be done while on board.
  • It would be a plus if you have:

    • Experience with some of the IT tools we use (FileMaker, Notion and Slack)
    • Experience with other agencies or cruise lines (shoreside)

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • 4-Month contract / full-time position. This is a 40-hour/week position. You’ll be covering for one of our team member’s 4-month maternity leave.  This is the perfect opportunity to find out if we’re an excellent fit for each other. We’re always looking for rockstars that match our company culture and when we find them, we keep them!  The casting team is growing rapidly so we’ll need a full-time talent booker in the not-too-distant future; if the 4 months go well, there’s a bright future ahead with us.
  • Assess and filter vocal applications.
    • Review the material presented in an application.
    • Communicate with the performer to obtain whatever info and materials they need.
  • Collect audition and call-back material.
    • Send the material to performers in a timely fashion.
    • Follow up with them until we receive all we need from them.
  • Create showreels portraying performers in the best light possible.
  • Ensure they’re the right fit for the job
    • Zoom call explaining what ship life is about.
    • Making sure they’re a good cultural fit for a given cruise line.
    • Ensuring they meet the requirements to work for that line (medical, age, etc)
  • Submit them to these different cruise lines through their dedicated portals.
  • Offer contracts! Telling a performer that we have a job for them on board a ship or at an amazing theme park is one of the most gratifying things we get to do.
  • Rehire ratio: Ensure that all production show performers on board have a confirmed contract before they sign off on their current contract.
    • Check in with our on-board performers every month – we want to be there when they need us. But also, and most importantly, to know what their availability is after this current contract.
    • Pass along each performer’s availability to our casting team so they can lock in a future contract for them
  • Weekly team meetings. Being a remote company, it is crucial to ensure that we’re updated with all current information as well as aligned.

What will you learn on this job?

You’ll learn the ins and outs of the cruise ship world from the other side: how we operate at Lime, and what gives us an edge.

You’ll learn what cruise ship office supervisors look for in vocalists — the variation from line to line, the qualities that make or break a great performer, the specific characteristics we seek when bringing new talent into the #LimeFam.

You’ll learn how to connect with lots of different personalities, pacify upset performers, de-escalate emergencies, and avert crises. After working with us, the hostage negotiation squad might come calling for a job offer.

Learning how to get organized and stay organized is a must. Handling 300+ performers, on and off board, is not a simple task, and requires great time-management skills. Our team will help you juggle all of these different balls (and bowling pins, knives, chainsaws, etc).

Job perks:

  • Remote position.
  • Salary in US dollars.
  • End-of-year incentive opportunities.
  • Upward movement within a growing company.
  • 15 working days of PTO per year, plus the 11 days of US federal holidays, for a total of 26 working days off.
  • Personal growth and up-skill-ing encouragement. We’ll pay for any course you’d like to take, as long as it’s related to what you do at Lime.
  • After a year with Lime you’ll unlock your Use It Or Lose It Fridays, getting an extra Friday off every month.
